Current Themes of Research

  • Synthesis of oxides and non-oxides (nitrides and sulfides) (ceramic and soft chemistry methods)
  • Gas-solid reaction mechanisms (electrical prop., TPD/MS, DRIFTS in situ). Application to gas sensing
  • Photocatalytic properties (degradation of organic compounds)
  • Elaboration of IR transparent ceramics by pressureless and pressure-assisted sintering techniques (HP, SPS)
  • Doped (RE or TM ions) (oxy)sulfide materials for active optical applications: phosphors, energy conversion, laser ceramics, optical refrigeration
  • Porosity/surface characterization (organic and inorganic solids, biomaterials…)
