Biography

Stéphanie Députier received the Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the University of Rennes 1, Rennes, France, in 1992. Since 1994, she has been an Associate Professor with the Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes, University of Rennes 1. Her research activities were first centered in solid-state chemistry (especially phase diagrams and solid phase interdiffusions in metal/semiconductor III-V systems); she is currently interested on thin films growth and structural characterizations, in particular ferroelectric oxides and metals deposited by pulsed laser deposition and sputtering, for various applications such as molecular grafting processes, microelectronics, and environmental applications. She has co-authored 90 papers and holds two patents.

Research themes

- Epitaxial growth of thin films and multilayers of dielectric and ferroelectric oxides by pulsed laser deposition for various applications (electronics, optics, photocatalysis, sensors, molecular grafting, surface protection, etc.)

- structural and microstructural characterizations of thin films (XRD : θ-2θ, φ-scan, ω-scan, X-ray reflectometry, ECP, EDS)

- Study of the influence of growth parameters on structural and microstructural properties

- Comparative study of thin films deposited by pulsed laser deposition and chemical solution deposition

- Elaboration of thin films by pulsed laser deposition and sputtering to prepare metallic and semiconducting functional surfaces (electrochemical and molecular grafting processes, sensors)
