 Solventless and Metal-Free Synthesis of High Molecular Mass Polyaminoboranes

The research launched since 2016 in the OMC team (https://iscr.univ-rennes1.fr/omc/or...) and dedicated to boron engineering for molecular materials and polymers lead us to disclose for the first time the synthesis of high mass functionalized polyaminoboranes under solvent less and metal free conditions. This work which is now being patented has been conducted by Carlos Pinheiro in collaboration with Claire Roiland, Philippe Jéhan and Gilles Alcaraz. In this temperature dependent process, diisopropylaminoborane (DIAB) is used as a convenient “BH2” transfer reagent in the presence of a variety of primary amines for the production of the corresponding transient alkylaminoborane that further polymerizes.
