JNTE 2022 - National Days of Thermoelectricity

National Thermoelectric Days

For nearly 15 years, the symposium dedicated to "Thermoelectricity" has been organized annually by a national laboratory. This scientific event was initiated by the former Research Group (GdR) ''Thermoelectricity'' and since 2018, it is backed by the actions of the Scientific Interest Group (GIS ) “Thermoelectricity” (//gis-te.univ-lyon1.fr/) and took the name of National Days of Thermoelectricity (JNTE).

Following the editions organized in Grenoble in 2018, Metz in 2019 and virtually in 2020 and 2021 (Virtual Day of Thermoelectricity, JVT), the JNTEs will be organized on site this year by the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (ISCR) from July 11 to 13, 2022 at the National School of Chemistry of Rennes (ENSCR). This national event will allow the scientific community interested in the physical phenomena of direct conversion of heat fluxes into electricity and vice versa, to present in the form of oral presentations or posters recent results related to this "energy" theme, ranging from fundamental research (theory, materials, elaboration, thermal, micro- & macroscopic phenomena) to the most diversified applications around the conversion of heat into electricity and thermal regulation.

The JNTE 2022 will be based around:

  • a thematic school based on the skills and specificities of the ISCR (see below)
  • a symposium which will centre on the sessions: "Applications" , “Low-dimensional materials”, “Bulk materials” and “Theory”, 2 poster sessions, 2 guest lectures and the awarding of the Coqblin prize for the best PhD thesis on the theme of thermoelectricity.

The 5 school sessions will take place over 2 half-days (Monday July 11, 2022 afternoon and Tuesday July 12, 2022 morning):

  • Introduction, principles and applications of thermoelectricity
  • Methods of synthesis and shaping in solid state chemistry
  • Structural and spectroscopic analyzes
  • In silico modeling and simulation
  • Crystallochemistry and relations with the thermoelectric properties of transition metal chalcogenides

The symposium will take place over 2 half-days (Tuesday July 12, 2022 afternoon and Wednesday July 13, 2022 morning):

  • 4 sessions of 1h30 for oral presentations
  • 2 sessions for poster presentations (1h and 30min)
  • 2 invited conferences (30min)
  • the oral presentation of the laureate of the Coqblin Prize (30min).

Schedule

  • Website open for abstract submission and registrations since March 15, 2022
  • Abstract submission deadline: May 20, 2022
  • Date of notification of presentations: May 30, 2022
  • Deadline for registration (free but compulsory) for the school (subject to availability) and/or for the symposium: June 3, 2022
