Research themes

• Anionic or enzymatic (lipases) Ring Opening Polymerization (ROP) of β-substituted β-lactones in presence of functional initiators leading to well-defined amphiphilic block copolymers bearing functional groups at one end which can be chemically modified.
• Chemical modifications of (co)polymers to introduce molecules of interest such as targeting agents (biotin, peptides) and fluorescence probes.
• Design of biocompatible multifunctional nanoparticles by the self-assembling of amphiphilic block polyesters for applications as site-specific drug delivery systems;
• Study of the encapsulation of various biologically active molecules such as anti-cancer drugs, therapeutic genes and/or radio-elements and in vitro assays.
• Applications of such systems in the treatment of the hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
